IMPORTANT - MAKE YOUR TRAVEL RESERVATIONS NOW!!!!

Hi Everyone.

I know I haven't been posting much lately, but it's only because I have been dreaming up the wedding extraordinaire! I can't wait for everyone to come and see this fantastic event. It should definitely knock every one's socks off.

There are a couple of really important pieces of information that I need to give you as quickly as possible. When we recently contacted the hotel (Lakeway Inn) we found that hotel rooms go really fast since tons of people have their weddings at this location. They just opened a huge glass ballroom which hosts weddings for 500+ people.

The sooner you make your hotel room reservation the BETTER! We definitely want everyone to stay at Lakeway. Unfortunately, there really isn't another close (within 10 miles) hotel, and it would be so much more fun for everyone!

HOTEL RESERVATIONS:

Please call and book at Lakeway Resort and Spa ASAP using the following phone number 1.512.261.6600.

It's important that you know they also offer a 72 hour cancellation policy. Get a room now, even if you have to make changes after you book your airline tickets!!!!

There will be a block of 10 rooms under Lisa Jessup/Andy Anderson which should rent for $139.00-$149.00 per night. Be sure to mention if you have AAA or AARP since I think you will get an additional discount of close to $120.00. Also if you check the website for the hotel, there are some packages which include golf for a day, or a day at the spa. Lakeway's website is http://lakeway.dolce.com/property/prop_home.php

Rooms go fast, so I'm hoping that everyone books sooner rather than later!
I will be sending this info out with the Wedding invitation with additional map directions but I don't want anyone to be stuck without accommodations. I will be staying at the hotel starting on (2/7/2007 through 2/11/2007) -- Wednesday through Sunday. Andy will be staying Friday night through Sunday afternoon.

Everyone will be invited to a Complementary Wedding brunch on Sunday morning. We are hoping that our guests from out of town please try to stay as long as possible - We really want to celebrate this event with our friends and family as much as possible.

We do welcome you to spend even more time in the Austin Area with Andy and myself. Please let us know if you would like to come in early and we can make accommodations for you either at our home, or with a hotel close to our home. We look forward to spending time with everyone during this special celebration.

AIRLINE FLIGHT INFO:

It's also a good idea to get your airline tickets ASAP. You may want to wait up till 21 days in advance, but be aware that airline tickets do go up significantly in cost when you are less than three weeks away from the date.

We really hope that our friends and family come and spend at least a long weekend with us for our wonderful celebration. If you are planning to arrive by Friday, please try to come in before 4 PM on Friday.

We are hosting a rehearsal dinner on Friday evening after the rehearsal (of course) which all of our out of town guests will be invited to attend. Yummy yummy Italian food - You won't want to miss!!

We would love for everyone to celebrate our first morning as Mr and Mrs Andy Anderson Jr with us. We have arranged a complementary Wedding Brunch for our guests to begin Sunday, 8 AM and end at 10 AM.

SEND LISA YOUR DETAILS:

Once you have made your arrangements with the Hotel and with the Airlines, please send Lisa the information. We are arranging transportation services from the airport to the hotel to prevent people from having the additional expense of a rental car. It would really help Andy and I to have your travel itinerary so that we can arrange for good times to pick everyone one up at the Airport.

Airlines-

Originating from Pittsburgh -

North West, Continental, and American Airlines all have tickets leaving Wednesday evening, with one stop and returning Sunday afternoon. The cost is $245.00 as of 11/15/2006.

We have a Florist!!

We would like to thank Christi Craven and Julie Della Croce from the organization called From God's Green Earth - for agreeing to be our Florists Extraordinaire! I am so excited that they have agreed to be our floral, and reception room stylists. Take a look at their website, it really shows just how talented they are with color and texture.

I can't wait to see what they come up with for the room. They have visited, met with Yuani and really have some great ideas. We had the nicest compliment on the amount of work Andy and I have done so far....Yuani suggested that we have our wedding be featured in the Austin Wedding Mag! Can you imagine?

Overall, just to give everyone a bit of a sneak peek... We are going to a similar look to one that was done at the Four Seasons hotel - seen below. I don't want to give too much away, but it's going to be amazing.

I love those trees!!!

Lisa and Andy Snap up a Photographer

Given that neither Andy or myself enjoy having our photograph taken, I do have to find it rather ironic that the first vendor we have secured is a photographer.

Cheryl has been taking photos for over 15 years, and has a very strong background in photography. She seems very talented, and very ready and willing to get the best shot possible! Check out her website at: www.rollmanphotography.com

One thing that I was struck by was her sense of humor, and lord knows in order to be a wedding photographer - she is gonna need that!

Thank you, Cheryl for agreeing to be our photographic expert at the Lisa Jessup / Andy Anderson wedding!

The Wedding Gown has Landed

I am very excited to announce that I have found and purchased THE DRESS! I have to say that it makes me look awesome and very slender! I do have a couple of photos of it, but I don't want to give the look totally away.

However, I can't not describe some of it...I just won't post photos =). The gown itself is made of a organza/chiffon over a very heavy satin. There is lace around the bottom which has pearls sequins and a floral pattern. Over the entire dress are vines of pearl flowers - but it is overall very simple and understated.

I decided to go with the white rather than ivory since ivory made me look ill. There is a train, but it isn't a huge one....Oh, and the back ties up rather than buttons. I believe its called a corset dress.

Progress is definitely being made. :)

Stay tuned for further details to come.

Lisa's Dad Visits

So, I want to formally thank the Dad for coming to Austin. I really enjoyed spending the time with him, and as always with Andy. It was pretty cool to have Andy and my dad meet.

Andy and I took the dad to Rudy's BBQ which he seemed to enjoy. We also drove out to Lakeway Inn (the wedding site) where the dad met Yuani! I was glad that we could give him the sneak peek.

We sure did eat well this last weekend - the pecan cheesecake was to die for! Needless to say, I have been bad about the diet, and I have to get back on the ball! Only 4 more months and counting!

Andy and I both greatly enjoyed spending the time with ya dad, and we will have to do it again soon!

Wedding Reception Ideas

I know... I know... It's been over a month since I have posted! I have been busy in Canada, but I really need to get on the stick now that I'm home for a while.

Here are some early planning images of what I dream of for a wedding reception. Mostly we are looking at a lot LOT of lights.

Let me know what you think. Stay tuned, I'll be posting more soon!

Dakota and Dingo Graduate from Puppy School

Congrats Dakota and Dingo!!!

Tonight was the final night of Puppy School and our puppies were FANTASTIC! I'm sure they are going to be very sad that puppy school is over. They both seemed to really enjoy getting their "learn on" with the other doggies at school. Andy and I will be happy that the bad influence dogs will not be teaching them how to eat uncooked chicken and tear through the trash!

Dingo!

In order to graduate each dog had to pass a final exam. Each dog had to learn a new trick to perform in front of all the other doggies, one that was NOT taught in class. Needless to say we had a fine time coming up with those at the last minute (being in Canada is not conducive to doggie training). Dingo learned how to "Speak" right before class. Dakota did a beg/up position with the best though she doesn't seem to like the linoleum floors for sitting.

Andy and Dakota!

Both dogs managed to do their final exams of a 30 second sit stay, loose leash walk, and even ignoring a special good smelling treat. I was worried about the Dingo leaving the food alone.....But she managed to ignore it just so long as I fed her the other good smelling treats. Dakota seemed to really do well with the sit/stay as long as she was on a carpet. Dakota and Dingo performed their new skills so well that people even called them each "star" pupils.

Lisa and Dingo (Nice Hair - UGH!)

Andy and I are both very proud of our super beagle and beaglet dogs! Think we are ready for the Intermediate Classes?

Paper Dress - Orgami reaches new level....

I'm thinking the tissue wedding dress would save a lot of money, but I wonder how well it would do when I start drinking??

I also think that these brides look a little Amish? Anyone agree? Maybe I should just go with the toilet paper flower in my hair? Stylish! Check out her lovely arm tattoo too! Oh yeah, I'm getting a wedding tat! (NOT!)

OK, since the Grandma was so kind in sending me these photos (G-ma Spam) I thought I'd share. I'm thinking that the checkerboard dress was made for me.... I wonder what kind of undergarments I would have to use?

Since I'm in Canada for the next few weeks, I won't be able to post much. But I'm thinking and trying to get in touch with travel agents. Andy and I have been searching the web for cool trips. The concept of sitting on a beach for 14 days has it's appeal, but I wonder if that's just speaking to my current levels of stress... We found a couple of 10-13 day cruises around Australia, which look awesome. I have a lot to say about the concept of the cruise honeymoon, so I'll address that in a separate post.

Needless to say I'm leery about the whole concept of germs on the boat...."BUFFET!"

I went to a few dress shops here in Canada.... I think I could get a good deal with the exchange, but how in the world would I be able to do alterations? I guess I could get a dress if I found one I liked and get it altered in the states. Just seems like a lot more work in the end.... Besides, the clothing is pretty much American designers, but they are within walking distance here... Something to do on the weekends.

Thanks for everyone's wonderful comments and warm response. I'll keep posting to keep everyone involved as much as possible. I just can't wait to get home. It looks like I'll be spending a lot LOT of time here in Canada as the winter approaches though. Poor Andy and furbabies!

Talk with yous guys laters!

It's A Date!!! February 10, 2007

Well, after about 3 enjoyable hours of speaking with Yuani Valentin, Catering Manager of the Lakeway Inn and Spa, we have made the deposit and have saved our date!!!

So put it in your calendars!! We are getting married!!

February 10, 2007!!

Andy and I are getting really excited about everything - though I'm feeling a little bit overwhelmed with all the decisions that have yet to be made. God, did I mention that I still have to pick colors?

Please enjoy looking at the photos that Andy and I took today while visiting the hotel (they are posted in the links on the right). I am really excited about the food tasting. :)

Astrology Compatibility - It's a YES!

Ok -this is totally goofy but I thought it appropriate given the theme... Stay tuned for photos from our visit to secure the Lakeway Inn hotel for our wedding. We have a Friday at 2 PM appointment and the wedding coordinator has stated we can take pics of even the hotel rooms!
Stay tuned for more wedding updates!!
Gemini (Andy) and Sagittarius (Lisa)

When Gemini and Sagittarius come together in a love affair, it can be a truly spectacular match! These two are extremely compatible; any rough spots they encounter during the course of the relationship are sure to be smoothed over with a minimum of effort. Gemini is quite able to provide pioneering, adventurous Sagittarius with the independence Sagittarius requires in a close relationship, because Gemini shares that same need. While Sagittarius needs physical independence, Gemini needs mental freedom, but the need is the same at base. These two both love new experiences, people and sensations, and are sure to have great adventures together. Both have attention spans that love to move quickly from one thing to the next in order to absorb as much experience as possible.

Gemini and Sagittarius are great friends, besides being well-matched lovers. They share a deep understanding and a very similar life view, based on a general, refreshing optimism and enthusiasm. Sagittarius can sometimes be a bit too blunt, saying things without thinking beforehand about whether they'll hurt someone or not, but Gemini is a hardy sort and, like Sagittarius, can forgive and forget quickly. These two don't have time or the interest required to hold a grudge.

Gemini is ruled by Mercury (Communication) and Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter (Luck). Mercury lends Gemini their chatty, intellectual demeanor; Jupiter is about both luck and philosophy, and lends Sagittarius their constant questing for knowledge and truth. This is a great match -- Gemini comes up with a new idea and Sagittarius jumps right on, ready to explore it to its limits.

Oh yeah...match made in heaven!!!

Introducing Dakota and Dingo

Dingo and Dakota in a photo moment!

Dakota and Dingo are adapting well to their new
housemates, (aka - The Cats). Dakota will sit at the bottom of the stairs at times trying to see what is going on upstairs, but we have not had any fur flying incidents. Dingo has very little interest in the cats themselves; it's their food that she is desperate to get her little paws on.

Dakota and Dingo have been going to school on Tuesday nights. They have a lovely instructor named Jessie who has taught us the skills to teach the dogs how to "Sit", "Stay", "Leave It" and "Lay Down". Andy has been primarily working with Dakota in class, and I've been working with Dingo. It's been very cute to see how excited they get when we take them to school!

Dakota is a sweet and quiet/laidback beagle. She is a very well behaved dog. Her latest love seems to be my pillows on the bed. When I walk past the bedroom during the day, I often am only be able to see Dakota's noise peeking out over a pillow on the bed.

Dingo is a bit more high energy than Dakota. Andy thinks its because she is part Jack Russel Terrier. At dinnertime she can be quite the dog spy shadowing me in the kitchen constantly looking for the food to drop. Recently, Andy and I purchased a treadmill to get in better shape. Dingo has tried out the treadmill, and actually seems to enjoy the process. She doesn't stay on very long unless you keep giving her the good snacks to keep motivated but she will get those chicken legs pumping.
Dingo is also the snuggle beaglet (said similar to eaglet....or so I'm told). She and I spend many hours rubbing her soft tummy. and snoring together in bed.
At doggie school, both Dakota and Dingo are star pupils. They seem to really enjoy the time we spend with them, and enjoy learning the new skills. We will keep you posted on how they continue to do in doggie school - just a few more weeks left now!

Introducing Elliott and Ernie

Elliott and Ernie are the latest residents in the Anderson/Jessup household. Initially, we were concerned about the transition from Lisa's apartment to Andy's house. Cats do not tend to move easily, and neither the dogs nor the cats had been exposed to the other species.

Things went swimmingly from the start...not even a "Meow" in the car!

We were concerned about the dogs and what is technically called their "prey drive". Dakota has been known to go after small furry beasts in the yard, and rumor has it she has taken down a rabbit or two.

Elliott and Ernie were installed into the upstairs bedroom and office of our home. They are enjoying the high views from the front window and can often be seen on the stairway at different points for treats during the day.

I personally think that Elliott has learned to be quite the tormentor of the puppies by demanding good smelling treats only feet away from their noses.

Ernie has come a great way to becoming less of a "fraidy cat" and has even taken to letting Andy pet him in the mornings and evenings when being fed. We have been doing a rotation letting the cats own the downstairs at night, and the dogs during the day. So far things are going slowly but smoothly.

Keep tuned in for further updates as Ernie and Elliott become totally at home in the household

Our Rings

I have been asked to post more photos, and definitely photos of the engagement ring, and wedding rings. That's completely do able... better than personal pics of me!

Here is a pic of the style of engagement and wedding ring as seen on the designer website.

Lisa's Engagement Ring specs:

I have a three stone princess cut diamond/platinum engagement ring which fits my sausage sized fingers (10 1/2). The center stone is 1 ct with two .25 sides.

Ok, ick on the hand photo.... but I looooove my bea-U-ti-full ring!!

Our Wedding Bands:
Andy is rather proud of his wedding band. (grin) He designed it himself with input from example rings in the jewelry showroom. The jewelry sales people thought that it was so nice they made their own copy to use in their jewelry showroom. Andy's ring is an 8 mm brushed platinum band with princess cut blue sapphires. The band is etched with a channel every few mm and given his size 10 ring there are 6 matching channels.

My wedding band is an eternity style band with a total of 15 princess cut diamonds. Each stone is channel set. The whole ring is a total of 3/4 ct. It is also platinum. The rings were created to fit together perfectly.

Save the Date!!!!

It looks like we may have found the perfect location for our wedding. After an insane day of driving around the Austin area (and yes, we did a loop of the city twice) we found a pretty great spot. Some of the really great reasons we liked this hotel:

  • There is a spa!! Oh, I'm so going to get the works the day before the wedding. I hope that everyone will be interested in joining me!
  • The hotel is currently undergoing a renovations of $30 million dollars - these renovations end by December this year. That means new beds, new modern clean bathrooms, and a staff that is ready and helpful - and the hotel doesn't have the high dollar reputation yet!
  • We hope to make this as much of a destination wedding for our guests as possible... There will be a lot of activities available for everyone as the hotel is right on the lake and very near two golf courses, they also offer complementary shuttles to and from the airport and downtown Austin.
  • The 5 star restaurant!!!
  • The facility has a wonderful room which will host the wedding/reception. If weather permits we may even consider having the wedding service out near the pool, or there are a couple of indoor locations. The point is that there are a lot of options.
  • Andy and I both liked the wedding coordinator for this hotel the best - she was a crazy South African lady who has a ton of great ideas to help!

Oh, and one of the most important reason, they had the date we wanted available!!

So, save the date!!!!
FEBRUARY 10, 2007

We still have to go and take a closer look at the hotel rooms. We don't want a beautiful honeymoon suite for us, and our guests stuffed in a closet! So, after we check that part out, and a few other details we will be securing the facility.
