It's A Date!!! February 10, 2007

Well, after about 3 enjoyable hours of speaking with Yuani Valentin, Catering Manager of the Lakeway Inn and Spa, we have made the deposit and have saved our date!!!

So put it in your calendars!! We are getting married!!

February 10, 2007!!

Andy and I are getting really excited about everything - though I'm feeling a little bit overwhelmed with all the decisions that have yet to be made. God, did I mention that I still have to pick colors?

Please enjoy looking at the photos that Andy and I took today while visiting the hotel (they are posted in the links on the right). I am really excited about the food tasting. :)

Never having done the "BLOG" thing, I don't know if I am doing this correctly...but here goes...
The site looks great. I will be there.
Suggestions for colors:
For the reception, since it is February the obvious would be red or pink. Maybe a little trite but easy to come by due to the holiday. Talk to Grandma for flowers, she is the expert there.
For the attendants, it depends on who they are. You want something they will be able to wear again. The two piece suit, white/off white jacket, long simple skirt in dark color can be split up and used for special occassions later and you don't have to worry about everyone looking good in the color.
You are a Winter so need to wear pure white or a silk white or very icy pastels but make sure they are true colors or have blue undertones, no yellow or gold. If you need me to send you samples, let me know.
For the invitation- Classic and understated is always in good taste, i.e., plain white or ivory, black ink, maybe a raised border.
Think about how you will feel looking back on your 50th anniversary. Will you still like the choices you made? Fads come and go and if you get too "Faddy" you will say, "UCK!" in years to come.
If you need me to do anything, let me know. I would love to go gown shopping with you but the distance is a little big.

Thanks for posting Mom.... I'm leaning towards actually gold colors for the reception room, and white/pale pink for myself. I don't think I am going to have any attendants in the wedding...it just isn't that big. :)
